8 Days | Danube Rhapsody

PASSAU ROUNDTRIP

This fascinating journey takes you along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Danube right in the heart of the once brilliant imperial and royal Austro-Hungarian monarchy. From the Bavarian city of Passau (where three rivers meet) the cruise goes downstream to Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, the city often described as the ‘Queen of the Danube'.

Day 1 | Passau, Germany. Embark. Board your Amadeus rivership in the afternoon and enjoy a welcome cocktail (incl.) on board with your fellow travellers.

Day 2 | Vienna, Austria. In the afternoon, tour the Austrian capital of Vienna and see some of the city's most important sights, including the State Opera House and St. Stephen's Cathedral. After dinner, enjoy Vienna's nocturnal magic during an night tour of the city.

Day 3 | Bratislava, Slovakia. Early morning arrival in Bratislava. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of this beautiful city including a visit to the Primatial Palace and St. Martin's Cathedral. An afternoon excursion will take you to the Imperial Festival Palace also known as "Castle Hof."

Day 4 | Budapest, Hungary. Morning arrival in Budapest, also called the "Queen of the Danube," During today's panoramic city tour, you'll visit the Heroe's Square with its Millennium Monument, the Fisherman's Bastions, and the Matthias Church. In the afternoon, join an excursion to the Hungarian Puszta. Then, wrap up the day with a fascinating evening cruise along the waterways of the illuminated city including a typical Hungarian Folkloric show aboard your ship.

Day 5 | Budapest. After breakfast, join your fellow shipmates in another tour of this vibrant city. Visit bustling Market Hall and enjoy a cup of coffee at Gerbaud's, a famous pastry shop. In the afternoon, explore the nearby quaint villages of Szentendre and Ezstergom. Reboard your ship in Ezstergom.

Day 6 | Vienna, Austria. Spend a relaxing morning cruising along the Danube as you sail towards Vienna. After lunch onboard, take an excursion to visit Schoenbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Complete your day by attending the "Sound of Vienna" evening concert at the Kursalon Vienna after dinner.

Day 7 | Melk. Emmersdorf. Disembark your ship in the morning and take in a tour of the famous benedictine abbey in melk. In the afternoon, enjoy a panoramic cruise through the beautiful, scenic Wacha valley. The Captain's Gala Farewell Dinner will be held this evening.

Day 8 | Passau, Germany. Disembark your rivership, and begin your journey home. If time permits, plan an optional hotel stay in Prague.
